GRC molds are pre-made shapes for pouring GRC material and producing various shapes according to required designs.
The molds are prepared in conformity with the proposed engineering designs by specialists in sculpture with the addition of an artistic vision to show the aesthetics of the artwork in terms of form and composition.
Molds are made of (thermal silicon - iron - wood - GRP) in all decorative works, taking into account the process of contraction and expansion of silicon, and then it is supported by a layer of fiberglass as a reverse mold.
Reinforcement of molds with iron corners to avoid arcing and twisting.
And then the molds are finished at a high quality level to obtain a product that matches the specifications.
The last step in processing is to isolate the molds with suitable materials to prevent the product from sticking to the mold it is made into.
2 _ The manufacturing process in two ways (spray method _ pre-mixing method) - firstly, spraying:
In this method, the cement mortar is mixed using a two-speed fan mixer to ensure mixing and homogeneity.
Then this mixture is transferred to the pump that pumps it into a hose to the spray gun. The spray gun works with compressed air and has an air motor that cuts the fiberglass threads into tufts of lengths as required.
Then spraying with the gun on the molds that have been prepared, then spraying a layer of cement mortar with the same color without adding glass fibers with a thickness of 1 to 2 millimeters to give the outer surface and not showing the fibers on the outer surface, then the GRC layer is sprayed with the required thickness.
This method is used for products with a fine thickness from 5 to 20 mm.
Pre-mixing method:
- Here, the cement mortar is mixed with a rotating mixer with curved arms operating at two speeds (fast - slow) to prevent the tufts of glass fibers dissolving and spreading into the mixture, then the air is discharged either by the method of vibrating table or using molds under pressure with hydraulic presses to obtain a strong product and a smooth surface free of Air bubbles.
The pre-mixing method is used to make products with large thickness and flat formations such as cholestra.
The best way to make GRC: -
The products of the spray method are more efficient than the pre-mixing method, because a large percentage of glass fibers can be reached from 5: 6% in the spray method, while it is not possible to add more than 3% in the pre-mixing method.
